Investigation: When I change the length of on side on a triangles than the entire triangle is going have to change. As in it becomes either big, small, wide or long. Then the triangle has to be fixed to a right triangle, unless its already in a right thriangle. Also the angels of the triangle becomes smaller or larger, but it has to follow the pythagorean therom patterns.
On a triangle website my teacher gave me there was an equalateral triangle. First I adusted it to a right triangle. Then I took side length "a" and made it shorter by half it's size. As I made the triangle shorter, the triangle got wider. I think it's becuase the I didn't change the rest of side lengths. Therefore sides "b" and "c" adjusted to the new size of "a".
DATA...
The original lenths:
The length of side a: 3cm
The length of side b: 2cm
The length of side c: 5cm
The NEW lengths:
The lengths of side a: 5cm
side b and c is the same
(Sorry if the triangle isn't perfect)I changed the length of side a, Originally It was 3cm now its 5cm. I discovered that if I made the length of a longer than the right triangle will get taller.
Conclusion: As you can see, No matter which side is changed in a shorter or taller way, its still going to stay as a right triangle. The only thing thats going to make the triangle look different is that is either going to be tall and skinny or short and wide. Thank you! =)

Can you extend your pattern to say more about how changing one side will change the other sides? For example, if you make one side twice as big, what happens to the hypotenuse? What if you make it 3 or 4 times as big?
ReplyDeletei like your triangles how did you do them?
ReplyDeleteUR PAGE IS DUMB ILL LIKE YO .... TEACH ME
ReplyDeleteI hope you guys know that commenting on her page saying I like your triangles and your page is "dumb ill", does not count. At least I don't think it does. (-_\\)
ReplyDeletei like it when you wrote an hypothesis, and conclusion and tell me what you are thinking. you gave a lot of information and talk about the side length. but you didn't talk about how the angles change in the triangle. so you need to make sure that you understand the question.
